A four episode documentary on HBO Max

The ask
Design a cohesive graphics package for HBO that conveys the downward spiral of Jodi Hildebrandt and Ruby Franke.
The execution
I was tasked with crafting the visual identity for an HBO documentary about Franke Ruby and Jodi Hildebrandt. Given the documentary's focus on Mormon traditions, the graphics were designed to reflect that world by infusing a gold overtone, yet subtly incorporate Jodi's distorted perspective through the community she was creating online. Using camera angles and loss of vibrant colors, I was able to project a sense of reality slowly slipping away as Ruby and Jodi's downward spiral became more evident.
The dream sequences were based on Jodi's own descriptions, illustrated using Illustrator and Photoshop and animated in After Effects.
